An original set of navy blue coloured cotton drill General Post Office bib and brace work overalls dating from the 1940s.
These overalls are original GPO issue. They are a typical bib and brace construction featuring straps to hold the bib on and long legs. This style of overall was very popular in the UK from the 1930s through to the 1970s and was often worn with a matching engineer jacket. The overalls are made from a navy blue coloured cotton drill and feature black painted brass buttons which are typical of British work clothes from the 1930s and 1940s. They feature two patch pockets to the front, buttons to the side and a button fly.
When laid flat the overalls measure -
Chest - 19"
Waist - 20"
Inside leg - 32 1/4""
Cuff - 9"
The coveralls are in good condition with some signs of previous wear and use. Overall they display well and are totally wearable with no serious flaws or damage. They are a vintage item though so please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a pre-owned item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.
