An original men's collared shirt made in France in the 1940s.
This style of shirt was popular in rural France during the 1930s and 1940s. It features a spearpoint collar as was popular during this period and a half-placket front. It is made from a mid-weight wool cotton mix and features a striped pattern of orange and brown on a sky blue field.
The shirt will fit someone with around a 38" - 40" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -
Chest - 23 1/2"
Inside arm - 21"
Outside arm - 24"
Shoulders - 17 1/4"
Collar - 15 1/2"
The shirt is in used condition with various signs of wear and age. There are some areas of fading and a very neat period darn to the front. This is to be expected of a vintage work shirt but please study the pictures carefully to get a good idea of the condition.
