An original men's suit jacket which was made in France during the 1940s from a striking cloth.

This jacket may have originally been part of a suit but can certainly be worn with mismatched trousers. It is made from a bold grey striped material and features a two button front with peak lapel which is an uncommon arrangement which when paired with the material makes for a striking period jacket. A welt pocket is located to the left breast and two flapped pockets are located to the skirt. There is a button detail at the cuff and the rear of the jacket features no vents as was commonplace during the 1930s and 1940s.

The interior of the jacket features a full lining and three interior pockets. Below the left breast interior pocket the original maker's label is still present and bears the maker's name of 'S. Kowalski' and the Paris address of the tailor's shop.

The jacket is a large size which will suit around a 46" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -

Chest - 25"
Inside arm - 17 3/4"
Outside arm - 25"
Shoulders - 21"
Length - 31"

The jacket is in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. There are some signs of wear and use which are to be expected with a vintage piece such as this. There are some small holes to the rear of the left sleeve and some more to the left cuff as illustrated in the pictures. Please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-owned item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.

A hard to find large size and made from a stunning bold cloth.
