An original 1940s French HBT workwear jacket in good condition.
This jacket features many of the details found on the American Army second pattern HBT fatigue jacket issued during the Second World War although it is distinctly different. Whilst it features the same expanding breast pockets, collar shape and is made from the same material; the jacket has differences. The front fastens with just three buttons which is a much different button stance than used on the US made examples. The buttons are also two piece metal examples which are typical of French items from this period and very different to the buttons used in the United States. The collar is also notably different being a light tan coloured khaki rather than green. Inside the jacket there is a small size label to the neck.
The jacket will suit up to a 42" chest and when laid flat it measures -
Chest - 23 1/2"
Inside arm - 16"
Outside arm - 22 1/2"
Shoulders - 20"
Length at back - 25 1/2"
The jacket is in good wearable condition with plenty of signs of wear and age. It has some fantastic sun fades as well as some limited staining and other signs of wear. Overall it is a great looking jacket but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that this is vintage, pre-worn item which may have small issues commensurate with age.
A very nice summer work jacket with some great details.
