A very nice original pair of French Corduroy trousers dating from the 1940s.
This style of trousers was extremely popular with French labourers, Artisans and workers throughout the mid-Century period. Made from a brown coloured, thick corduroy material; the trousers feature a high rise waist and wide leg as was popular during this era. The trousers feature a button fly as well as a large metal hook and eye, as is often found on French work trousers. Buttons have been added to the waistband to which braces can be attached and there are belt loops around the waist. Straight slash pockets are located to each hip.
Inside the trousers the original label is still present and is bright and legible. It bears the maker's name of 'Le Meilleur d'Amiens' and typical period graphics.
The trousers will suit a 33" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat measure -
Waist - 16 1/2"

Cuff - 10"
The trousers are in very good condition for their age with only very limited signs of wear and use. Please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-owned pair of work trousers.
