An original men's collared shirt made in France in approximately the 1940s.
This style of shirt was popular in rural France during the 1930s and 1940s. It features a spearpoint collar as was popular during this period and a half-placket front. It is made from a lightweight poplin cotton and features a checked pattern of blue and cream with a grey overcheck. Inside the neck of the shirt the original size label is still present and reads '38'.
The shirt will fit someone with a 36" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -
Chest - 20 1/2"
Inside arm - 21"
Outside arm - 23 1/4"
Shoulders - 16"
Collar - 15"
The shirt is in well used condition with various signs of wear and age. This is to be expected of a vintage work shirt but please study the pictures carefully to get a good idea of the condition.
