An original British CC41 navy blue pinstripe three button Jacket made by 'Scotto' during the 1940s.

This style of jacket was extremely popular in the 1930s and 1940s. It could well have originally been part of a suit but would also likely have been worn with grey flannel trousers or slacks - a very popular casual look during this period. The jacket is cut in a typically 1930s style being short in the body and featuring no rear vent. The single breasted front and peaked lapel are also classic of British jackets from this period as is the full rayon lining. The jacket is made from a typically heavy wool and is fully canvassed which gives it a stiff, strong feel. The jacket is better made than many others from the period and even features a good match on the flapped pockets and breast pockets with the pin stripes - also a sign of a quality made piece.

Inside the jacket the original CC41 label is still present and bears the code of 209F. Inside the interior pocket is the maker's label which reads 'Scotto High Grade Clothing'. There are some details added by hand including what may be a 1944 date.

The jacket will suit around a 36" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -

Chest - 20"
Inside arm - 17 1/2"
Outside arm - 24 1/2"
Length - 30"
Shoulders - 17 1/4"

The jacket is in reasonable condition for its age and it is still very wearable. There are some signs of wear and age along with a hole to the rear below the collar which is detailed in picture 11. There is also some wear towards the bottom of the lining as shown in picture 5. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a pre-worn vintage item of around 80 years old which may have small issues commensurate with age.

A nice original 1940s jacket which would look great paired with grey flannels as a sports jacket!
