An original British made palm beach linen jacket made by 'Well Brand' and dating from the 1930s.
This style of jacket was popular during the mid Century period for wear in hot climates. It is made from a cream coloured linen which was chosen due to its lightweight nature. It is cut in a typical 1930s fashion being very short in the body and featuring no rear vent. The front fastens with three buttons and features a notched lapel. Patch pockets are located to the front and the jacket is unlined.
Inside the jacket the original label is still present and features a green on white graphic of a well along with the words 'Well Brand'. It is typical of the period and a nice feature.
The jacket is a smaller size which will suit around a 38" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -
Chest - 21 1/2"
Inside arm - 18"
Outside arm - 25"
Shoulders - 17 1/2"
Length - 27 1/2"
The jacket is in well worn condition with staining to various areas, a hole to the sleeve (picture ) and a period replacement front button. Please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a well used jacket which has issues.
A classic piece of British summer attire with a great label!
