An original men's collarless shirt made by 'Nuvotex' in the 1930s and in unworn condition.
This shirt is typical of those made in the interwar years. It features a half button or 'tunic' front which is designed to by pulled on over the head. It has a square bib front which fell out of fashion in the post-war years and turn back 'French' cuffs, designed to be worn with cuff links. It is made in a mint green colour which is very evocative of the era.
The shirt is in new old stock, unworn condition and has clearly been recently removed from its original packaging. It retains its original card labels which would have been removed and discarded before wear. They are again typical of the pre-war era and match the label inside the shirt. All labels state the maker as 'Nuvotex Regd'. The collar size is also marked to the inside of the neckband of the shirt and reads 13 1/2".
The shirt is a smaller size and when laid flat measures -
Chest - 21 1/2"
Inside arm - 20"
Outside arm - 23 1/4"
Shoulders - 17 3/4"
Length - 35"
The shirt is in good condition and as previously stated is unworn. There are some small storage marks which I have attempted to detail in the pictures. These may come out with specialist cleaning and do not overall detract from the shirt.
Altogether this is a very nice original pre-war shirt in great unworn condition. It would make an excellent addition to any collection or wardrobe without a doubt!
