An original ski cap made in Great Britain during the 1930s which is in good condition.
This style of cap was intended to be worn for outdoor pursuits including motoring, flying and walking. It is made from a rubberised fabric making it highly waterproof and the interior is lined with a soft chamois leather for warmth. The design is a typical 'ski' cap style and it features fold down ear flaps as detailed in the pictures. These are held in the upright position by 'Newey' branded press studs and a metal buckle fastens the strap at the front. A simple cotton sweatband is also fitted around the inside edge of the hat.
The hat is approximately a size 6 7/8.
The overall condition is good with some signs of wear and age. The rubberised material is still soft and supple and the interior is good with some signs of use etc. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-owned item which may have small issues commensurate with age.
A rare original inter-war period item of outwear with some great details!
