An original pair of French whipcord workwear trousers dating from the 1920s.
This style of trousers was extremely popular with French labourers, Artisans and workers throughout the mid-Century period. Made from a thick, black coloured moleskin material; the trousers feature a high rise waist and button fly as well as straight slash pockets at the hips. Typical early features include the flat front and cinch-back rear which fastens with a brass buckle marked 'Paris'. The fly fastens with brass buttons which are maker marked 'Rouchard Langeais'. More of these are positioned around the waist to which braces can be attached.
The trousers will suit a 30" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat measure -
Waist - 15"
Rise - 11 1/2"
Rear rise - 17 1/2"
Inside leg - 28 1/2"

The trousers are in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. There are some period repairs to the crotch which are illustrated in the pictures as well as some other signs of wear which are commensurate with age. Please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-owned pair of work trousers.
