An original pair of French moleskin trousers dating from the 1920s.
This style of trousers was extremely popular with French labourers, Artisans and workers throughout the mid-Century period. Made from a thick, black coloured moleskin material; the trousers feature a high rise waist and button fly as well as straight slash pockets at the hips. Typical early features include the flat front, narrow 8 1/2" opening at the cuff and cinch-back rear. The fly fastens with metal donut buttons and more of these are positioned around the waist to which braces can be attached.
The trousers will suit a 31" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat measure -
Waist - 15 1/2"
Rise - 13 1/2"
Rear rise - 18 1/2"
Inside leg - 28"
Outside leg - 41"
Cuff - 8 1/2"
The trousers are in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. There is also some wear at the bottom of each cuff which is illustrated in the pictures. There is also a small hole to the rear of the left leg. Please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-owned pair of work trousers.
