Original 1920s British Black Barathea Wool Fishtail Back Trousers

Code: 52297

RESERVED

An original pair of black barathea wool men's trousers dating from the 1920s.

These trousers are made from a black coloured barathea wool and are typical of the Edwardian period and 1920s featuring a flat front, high rise waist, fishtail cut to the rear and a narrow, 8 1/2" cuff. The fly fastens with buttons and more buttons can be found at the waist to which braces can be fitted. The trousers feature slash pockets to the hips and a flapped pocket to the rear.

The trousers will suit someone of around a 35" waist depending on desired fit. When laid flat they measure -

Waist - 17 3/4"
Rise - 15"
Rear rise - 20"
Inside leg - 28 1/2"
Outside leg - 41 1/2"
Cuff - 8 1/2"

The overall condition of the trousers is very good with some signs of wear and use. There is some staining to the waistband lining although this is not seen when worn. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that these are a pre-worn pair of vintage trousers which are roughly 100 years old and may have small issues commensurate with age.

Altogether nice early pair of men's trousers with some great period details!
