A reproduction leather jacket made by the prestigious maker 'Eastman Leather'.
Eastman's jacket's have been considered the best and most authentic reproduction flying jackets by many for over 2 decades. The attention to detail makes an Eastman jacket a great substitute for an original and are ideal for someone who wants to wear this style regularly.
The design of this jacket is based on the private purchase commercially made jackets which were worn by a great many Luftwaffe pilots during the Second World War. It is made from a black coloured 3oz horsehide leather and is a fairly simple design which gives it a nice period utility feel. The front fastens with a high quality 'RiRi' branded zipper as do the chest pockets. There are also slash pockets located further down the body and there is a latch detail across the bottom of the zip which is typically found on original jackets from the 1940s. The sleeves feature zips and a tab fastens over the end and is secured with a 'Prym' brand press stud - a wartime manufacturer still in business. There is also a small tab at the collar which can be fastened across the neck and waist adjusters are located to each hip.
The interior of the jacket is lined in a blue coloured moleskin cotton which gives it a very German feel. There is a hidden zip pocket inside the jacket which is a nice feature inside which is an original size label which reads '46'. The main label which would have been fitted below the collar has been removed and there is a hanging loop at the neck.
The jacket is intended to fit a 46" chest and when laid flat it measures -
Chest - 26 1/4"
Inside arm - 20"
Outside arm - 24 1/2"
Shoulders - 22"
Length at rear - 25"
The jacket is in good condition for its age with some signs of wear and use. The leather exterior is in very good condition and has taken on a nice patina with no notable flaws or damage. The lining shows wear and use, particularly inside the cuff. The cotton pocket bags also show some signs of wear and age. Overall it displays very well and is totally wearable but please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that it is a pe-owned jacket with some signs of previous wear etc.
A very nice example of this great jacket which is almost half the price of a new one!
