A fantastic original 1940s French Corduroy Hunting jacket made by 'La Buche' in a size 40" chest.

This is a truly classic piece of mid Century French outerwear. It is made from a thick, grey-blue coloured corduroy material and is cut in a typical manner for the era. The front of the jacket features patch pockets which all feature scalloped pocket flaps and the collar is a typical shape for the period. The features adjustable straps which fasten with hunting style buttons which are often found on this type of jacket. The rest of the buttons are period replacements which all appear to be corozo. At the rear of the jacket there are two large pockets to each side seam which again fasten with hunting buttons (pictures 12 + 13).

The interior of the jacket features a partial cotton lining to the rear panel. There is a single interior pocket which bears the maker's label to the outside. This features typical period graphics and the maker's name of 'La Biche'.

The jacket will suit around a 40" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures -

Chest - 23 1/4"
Inside arm - 17 3/4"
Outside arm - 25"
Shoulders - 19"
Length at rear - 28"

The jacket is in very good condition as can be seen in the pictures. It displays well and is totally wearable with no serious flaws or damage. There is a small slit to the rear which is illustrated in picture 14 and some other signs of wear and age so please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that it is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small issues commensurate with age.

A fantastic example of a French hunting jacket with great details.
