A reproduction leather jacket made by the prestigious maker 'Eastman Leather'.
Eastman's jacket's have been considered the best and most authentic reproduction flying jackets by many for over 2 decades. The attention to detail makes an Eastman jacket the best substitute for an original and are ideal for someone who wants to wear an irvin regularly. As well as flying jackets they have also created other civilian period jackets such as this.
The design of this coat is based on coats worn in the inter-war period by motor and aviation enthusiasts. The three quarter length design makes it ideal for sitting in aeroplane cockpits or cars. The jacket is made from an Italian 3oz Aniline-dyed Russet Horsehide and features a double breasted front which fastens with leather 'football' style buttons. Slash pockets are located to the waist and flapped pockets can be found to the skirt. The coat has a matching leather waist belt which fastens with a leather covered single prong buckle which is typical of the inter-war period.
The interior of the coat is lined with a plaid pure new wool material which contrasts nicely against the leather and is again typical of the era. There is an interior pocket and all the pockets are lined with brushed cotton. There is a leather hanging loop at the neck below which is the label which features nice period style graphics along with the 'Brooklands Motoring Coat' name along with the 'Eastman Leather Clothing' brand name. There is also a size tag which reads '44'.
The jacket is designed to fit a 44" chest and when laid flat it measures -

The jacket is in good condition and has clearly been well cared for. It has been worn and has taken on a fantastic patina. Please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a second hand, pre-worn item which has signs of wear etc.
