An original pair of Royal Navy Petty Officers wool serge trousers dating from the Second World War.
This pattern of trousers was worn throughout the Second World War by Petty Officers and Chief Petty Officer's with both the double breasted and single breasted serge jackets.
The trousers are typical of those from the 1930s and 1940s featuring a high rise waist, button fly and single flapped rear pocket. The front of the trousers feature twin pleats and slash pockets located to each hip. Buttons are fitted around the waist to which braces can be fastened.
The trousers will suit someone of around a 28" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat measure -
Waist - 14 1/2"
Inside leg - 31"
The trousers are in good condition with some signs of wear and use. There is a hole to the crotch which could be invisibly repaired without too much work. Overall they are sound and wearable but please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that these are a vintage pair of pre-worn trousers which may have other small issues commensurate with age.
A nice pair of original WW2 trousers which would make a nice addition to any collection.
