Code: 52866
An original pair of post-1932 Royal Navy Ratings Serge bell bottom trousers as worn throughout the Second World War and in the immediate post-war period.
This pattern of trousers features a flap front, a style which dates back to the 19th Century. They have a wide leg which was designed to be easy to roll up when cleaning the deck (a daily chore) and easy to remove if in water. The trousers feature a single pocket which has a cotton ticking pocket bag. The trousers also feature a cotton ticking lining to the waistband.
The trousers feature the original owners name to the interior which reads 'J. Walley' and when laid flat they measure -
Waist - 14"
Rise - 15 3/4"
Rear rise - 17"
Inside leg - 30"
Outside leg - 43"
Cuff - 11 1/2"
The trousers are in well used condition and have a number of holes which is reflected in the price. These are detailed in the pictures and may be repairable but are sold 'as found'.
Whilst not a perfect example, these are still original WW2 period Royal Navy Bell Bottoms which could make a good addition to a collection or display.
