Code: 51625
An original pair of post-1932 Royal Navy Ratings Serge bell bottom trousers as worn throughout the Second World War.
This pattern of trousers features a flap front, a style which dates back to the 19th Century. They have a wide leg which was designed to be easy to roll up when cleaning the deck (a daily chore) and easy to remove if in water. The trousers feature a single pocket which has a cotton ticking pocket bag. The trousers also feature a cotton ticking lining to the waistband.
The trousers are named to the interior to 'Ovenden' and when laid flat they measure -
Waist - 16"
Rise - 15"
Rear rise - 17 1/2"
Inside leg - 30"
Outside leg - 43"
Cuff - 12 1/2"
The trousers are in good condition with plenty of signs of wear and age. They display well but are a worn, issued item and have some small issues commensurate with this.
A good pair of original World War Two period Bell Bottoms.
