A scarce original austerity pattern Able Seaman's jumper dating from the Second World War.
This jumper is interesting as it has the austerity single layer collar but retains the buttoning cuff which wasn't a feature on the economy pattern. Aside from that the jumper is standard being made from a very dark blue coloured wool serge and it features two interior pockets.
When laid flat the jumper measures measures -
Chest - 20"
Inside arm - 21"
Outside arm - 24 3/4"
Shoulders - 16 1/2"
Length - 28 1/2""
The jumper is in good condition for its age with some signs of wear and use. There is a button missing to one of the cuffs but it displays well with no serious flaws or damage. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that it is a vintage, pre-owned item.
A good original example!
