First issued in 1914, these rare RFC MK1 goggles feature in many original period photographs, often with other ranks who would have worn issued kit rather than expensive private purchase items.
This particular example are made from the correct salmon coloured rubber and feature a simple elastic strap with a hook and eye fastener. The one piece rubber frame is fitted with two pieces of laminated clear glass.
The goggles are in good condition considering they are over 100 years old! The only real floor with them is a split in the rubber frame to the right of the bridge. This can be seen in the photographs and is reflected in the price.
By 1915 the MK1 goggle mask was introduced replacing this design making it very rare today and highly collectible. These would compliment any RFC collection without a doubt!
