Original US Navy Dungarees

Original US Navy Dungarees

Code: 50899

An original pair of United States Denim Dungarees dating from the 1940 - 1950s.

This pattern of trousers was used during the Second World War, Korea and beyond. They feature the iconic bell bottom shape and high waist associated with sailors of the period as well as two patch pockets to the front and two to the rear, one of which is buttoning. A button fly fastens the front of the dungarees and belt loops can be found around the top of the waist.

The original owner has added his name to the trousers in what looks to be black ink. It is not very clear against the dark blue of the denim but the name ‘Buckingham’ can just be made out.

When laid flat the trousers measure -

Waist - 16 1/2”
Inside Leg - 32”
Rise - 13 1/2”
Breech - 17 1/2”

These should be a good fit for someone with a 32-33” waist and a 32” inside leg.

The condition of the trousers is good with no major rips, tears or other damage that I can see. They were clearly used when Buckingham was serving with the USN a have various marks and stains to prove this. Please study the pictures for a clear idea of the condition.

All in all a very nice pair of hard to get original USN trousers in a good wearable size.
