An original 1973 dated United States Air Force Flyer's Helmet Bag in good condition.
This pattern of bag was introduced around the time of the Korean War and stayed in issue for a number of years. They are designed to house a pilot or flyers helmet and help to protect it when in transit. Made from a green coloured nylon material, the bag features brass zip which fastens the top og the bag and has a piece of dog tag chain in place of a puller. There are two large pockets to one side of the bag and two carry handle to the top.
The interior of the bag is lined with a cream coloured alpaca wool and features two internal pockets. The original label is also to be found inside the bag which reads -

The bag is in good condition with some signs of wear and age. It displays well and looks to be very usable but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-owned item with some small issues commensurate with age.
