An original pair of United States Army Chino Trousers dating from 1968.
This style of trousers was introduced in the early 1940s for wearing stateside and in warm climates. They stayed in issue for many years with these examples dating from the 1960s.
The trousers are made from a tan coloured cotton and feature a high rise waist and wide leg. The fly fastens with a 'Rapid' brand metal zipper and belt loops are positioned around the waist. Slash pockets can be found to each side whilst at the rear are two more pockets.
Inside the trousers the original label is still present and bears the title 'Trousers, Men's Cotton U.T. 8.2oz. Khaki, Shade 1'. It states the size as 34 x 34 and bears the manufacturer's name of 'Mccoy MFG. CO., Inc'. The DSA number is present and is the style used between 1962 and 1977. The year of 1968 can be seen as '68' half way through the code.
When laid flat the trousers measure -
Waist - 17"
Rise - 13 1/2"
Rear rise - 17 1/2"
Inside leg - 33 1/2"
Outside leg - 45 1/2"
Cuff - 9 1/2"
The trousers are in great condition with some sign of previous wear and use. Overall they are very wearable and present well but please bear in mind that these are a pre-worn pair of vintage trousers which may have small issues commensurate with age.
All in all a nice pair of vintage 1960s US Military trousers which would make a great addition to your summer wardrobe!
