An original United States Army Men's Raincoat dating from 1967 and in a size 38 Regular.
This pattern of coat was issued to members of the US Army during the 1960s and in the Vietnam War. It is designed in a classic raincoat style being knee length and featuring a double breasted front which fastens with buttons. A waist belt is fitted around the centre of the coat and it fastens with a plastic buckle. There are pockets to the hip, epaulettes fitted to the shoulders and straps to each cuff. There is also a storm flap located to the right shoulder.
Inside the coat there is a small label to the neck which bears the size of 38R. Lower down there is a larger label which bears the title of 'Raincoat, Man's, Cotton and Nylon, Quarpel, Army Green 274'. Below this is the DSA number 100-67-c-1668 which denotes the year of manufacture as 1967.
The coat is designed to fit a 38" chest and hwne laid flat it measures -

Length at back - 46"
The coat is in good condition with some signs of wear and age. There are no serious flaws or damage and it is still a very wearable item. There are however some marks and stains which are visible in the pictures. Please take time to study these before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.
