An original pair of United States Army M1965 Pattern Combat Trousers which date from the 1960s.
This pattern of trousers was introduced in 1965 alongside a matching combat jacket. They were introduced to replace the M51 combat uniform and saw widespread issue throughout the Vietnam War. The trousers are made from a green coloured cotton and feature flapped pockets which fasten with press studs to the hips and cargo pockets to the side of each leg. The fly fastens with a metal zipper which features a chromium plated puller which is maker marked 'Prentice'. The knees have expanding sections and drawstrings are located to the bottom of each leg.
Inside the trousers some of the original stamps can still be seen including the size of 'Long Medium'. The trousers will suit around a 33" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat they measure -
Waist - 16 1/2"
Rise - 14 3/4"
Rear rise - 20"
Inside leg - 31 1/2"
Outside leg - 44 1/2"
Cuff - 9"
The trousers are in well worn condition with plenty of signs of use and age which have been reflected in the price. There are various period repairs etc but overall they are still wearable with a good used look to them. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-worn item with some flaws commensurate with age.
