An original post Second World War RAF Officers Service Dress jacket and trousers in good condition.
This Cold War era suit more or less follows the same pattern as all RAF officers Service dress featuring two pleated breast pockets, two lower bellows pockets and a waist belt. The trousers feature belt loops and waist adjusters as well as a period lightening zipper to the fly. This style of zip is commonly seen on 1950s and 1960s clothing.
Both items retain their original labels and are both named to 'Ratcliffe'. Interestingly both items have Warrant Officer labels so perhaps Ratcliffe was promoted? The labels state the chest size as 36", waist 33 1/2" and inside leg 31". The sleeves bare to rank rings denoting the rank of Flight Lieutenant.
The overall condition of the set is good but there are some stains which I have highlighted in the photographs. There are also a couple of small moth holes to the very bottom of the jacket and another to one of the sleeves. Aside from this the condition is good for its age.
Overall a nice Cold War era tunic and trousers which would be great as part of a display or good for a re-enactor.
