An original Mk. 7 RAF flying suit in grey as used from the 1950s onwards by RAF aircrew in a good size 4.
These grey suits are iconic of the early Jet Age and are seen in many period photos in use with the RAF. They are a lightweight coverall which is worn over the uniform to protect it when flying.
This particular example retains its original labels. One is the issue label which states the RAF contract number 22c/2704 and also bares the War Department broad arrow. Underneath this label is a far larger one with instructions on which is standard on MK7 flying suits.
The suit features all of its original zips which work perfectly. It also has Velcro at the cuffs and the waist to tighten them and has had small pop studs added to the lower portion of each leg, most likely to make them fit easily inside flying boots.
The condition of the suit is great showing very little wear and no damage at all. There are a few marks here and there as is to be expected with a flying suit which has seen some use.
All in all, a cracking flying suit which would compliment any Jet Age RAF collection without a shadow of a doubt!
