An original 1952 Dated RAF Ordinary Airman's kit bag as was used throughout the Second World War and in the post-war period.
This example is made from a off-white coloured canvas and features brass eyelets around the top opening. A blue band is painted around the waist of the bag as is often found on these bags as is the original owners name and serial number which reads 'Briggs S 4111516'.
There is a marking to the interior of the bag which features the manufacturers name, the Air Ministry stores code and the 1952 date. Whilst this example is dated 1952 it remains unchanged in design from those used before the Second World War and throughout the conflict.
The bag is in used condition but is sound. It displays well and would make a good addition to your RAF collection.
