An original pair of British military physical training shorts dating from 1951 and of the same pattern used during the Second World War.
This style of shorts was used by the British Army and RAF during the Second World war for physical training and were often referred to as 'PT Shorts'. The shorts are made from a lightweight, blue coloured cotton drill and feature a short button fly which fastens with black plastic buttons.
Inside the shorts the original label is still present and is bright and legible. The title of 'Shorts P.T.' as is the size of 3 and the maker's name of 'G. K. O'Connor & Co'. The War department broad arrow marking is also present as is the 1951 date.
When laid flat the shorts measure -
Waist - 15 - 18"
Rise - 13"
Rear rise - 15"
Inside leg - 7"
Outside leg - 17"
Cuff - 12"
The shorts are in good condition with some signs of wear and use. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that these are a pre-owned pair of vintage shorts.
