An original RAF officers shirt in good condition which was made in 1967.

This pattern of shirt was worn by RAF officers for many years. It is the full buttoning front style which began to come into use during the Second World War before eventually replacing the half-placket style completely by the 1960s. This example features a neckband collar to which a detachable collar can be fitted. The cuffs are barrel style which fasten with a button. The original stamps are still present to the inside of the collar and include the 1967 date. These are hard to see in the pictures but whilst faded, they are more obvious in person.

The shirt will suit someone of around a 38" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures -

Chest - 22 1/2"
Inside arm - 19 3/4"
Outside arm - 24"
Shoulders - 18"
Collar - 14 1/2"

The shirt is in excellent condition with no real signs of wear and age. It appears to have only seen very limited use, if any at all. The only small flaw is a found to the rear shoulder near the collar as illustrated in picture 9. This is not a hole as there are two layers of fabric and only the top layer is damaged. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a pre-owned, vintage item which may have small issues commensurate with age.

Overall a nice original shirt which is in good wearable condition.
