A scarce original 1952 dated British Army physical training polo shirt in blue.
This shirt was designed as a sports piece and was issued to a member of the British Army or RAF who served in the early 1950s. It is made from a light blue coloured ribbed cotton and is cut in a classic mid Century polo shirt style with a small V opening at the neck and no buttons. The collar is also typical of the period being large and having a spearpoint collar shape. The sleeves are short and feature tight knitted cuffs.
The original stamp is still present to the bottom of the garment and states the size as 2. The War Department broad arrow marking is also present
When laid flat the top measures -
Chest - 16"
Shoulders - 15 1/2"
Length - 25 1/2"
The shirt is in good condition overall with some signs of wear and age. It appears to be very wearable but please study the pictures provided and bear in mind that this is a vintage pre-worn item which may have small issues commensurate with age.
