1967 Dated British RAF Khaki Drill Shirt by 'Ladybird' - Size 14

An original British Royal Air Force Khaki Drill Shirt dated 1967.

This shirt is made from cellular cotton which is often referred to as 'Aertex'. It is a lightweight, breathable fabric which was popular during the Second World War and in the subsequent post-war years for tropical clothing.

The shirt features a full button front and long sleeves with all the original buttons still being intact. Two pleated chest pockets are also present and feature scalloped pocket flaps. Epaulettes are present at the shoulders and the cuff is a barrel style which fastens with a single button.

Inside the shirt the original label is still present and states the manufacturer as 'Ladybird' of Belfast who were a common maker during this period. The size is stated as 14 which refers to the collar size and the 1967 date is visible. The RAF stores reference number 22E 886 is also present and confirms this as an RAF item.

When laid flat the shirt measures -

Inside arm - 19 1/2"
Outside arm - 22 1/2"
Shoulders - 17"
Length at front - 29"
Length at back - 33 1/2"
