Original 1940s British Army Officers KD Bush Jacket - Large Size

Code: 54924

SOLD

An original Second World War period British Army Officers Khaki Drill Tunic in well worn condition.

This style of Bush Jacket became popular with British Officers during World War Two as a more practical alternative to the regulation Khaki Drill Officers tunic which was cut in the same fashion as the standard green wool tunic. The bush jacket offered a looser fit which proved to be much better suited to fighting and working.

The jacket is made from a khaki coloured cotton drill and features butterscotch buttons to the front, epaulettes, cuff and chest pockets. The jacket also features a spear point shaped collar which is typical of items made during the 1940s. Inside the jacket has the name 'Spokes' written in ink.

The jacket is a rare larger size which will suit up to a 42" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measure -

Chest - 23 1/2"
Inside arm - 18 1/2"
Outside arm - 24 1/2"
Shoulders - 18 1/2"
Length - 28"

The jacket has seen some heavy use and has repairs in various places as photographed. Please take time to study the pictures as this is far from perfect with numerous flaws which is reflected in the price.

Whilst in well worn condition, this is a rare opportunity to purchase a large size KD jacket from the 1940s.
