An original 1959 dated RAF Flying Suit in good condition.
This flying suit is typical of the Jet-Age period. The blue-grey overall features bell shaped 'Lightening' zippers to the pockets and a larger zipper of the same maker to the front. The lower legs feature a variety of button pockets, pull tab adjusters can be found in the waist and a D-ring is on the chest for the oxygen mask.
Inside the suit both the original labels are still present. The top label states the RAF stores reference as 22c/1962 and the size as 5. The 1959 date is present a is the War Department broad arrow marking. The larger lower label states 'Suits Flying MK4 and 4a' to the top with various instructions below this, as was common on suits of this period.
The condition of the suit is good as can be seen in the pictures but it does have some signs of wear and use as is to be expected with a vintage item which has been issued and worn. Please study the pictures as they form part of the description.
All in all a very nice 1950s RAF flight suit which would make a good addition to any collection or display!
