An original pair of 'Overalls, Flying, Cold Weather MK 3 Trousers' dated 1973 in a large size 6.
These trousers were issued along with the matching MK 3 cold weather flying jackets and were worn as a flying suit. This is the earlier pattern which has the metal belt buckle rather than the later velcro fastening. In some of the pictures this is folded away but you can see it in the main photograph.
The original labels are present inside the trousers and are nice a clear. The trousers are marked as a size 6 which is very good size to find and will fit up to 5' 11". The label features the War Department broad arrow mark as well as the 22C stores code.
The trousers feature NZ marked nickel plated zips which is correct for this era of manufacture. Integral elastic braces also feature on these trousers and appear to be in good condition.
The condition of the trousers is good with no signs of excessive wear or damage that I can see. They have most likely been issued but have been well looked after and not heavily worn.
A nice piece of Jet Age flying clothing with a good date and in a good wearable size. These would make a nice addition to an RAF or aviation collection!
