An interesting privately tailored four pocket jacket made from French Army Lizard Pattern camouflage material which most likely dates from the 1960s.
This jacket has been made from different pieces of material from different batches. The main body of hte jacket is type 7 camouflage from 1954 whilst the sleeves are a contrasting type 8 camouflage of more muted tones which dates from around the same time period. It has been made in a conventional bush jacket style with patch pockets to the chest and lower bellows pockets. The front and the pockets fasten with buttons whilst inside there is a drawstring at the waist which may suggest this started life as a standard M47 jacket.
The jacket will suit around a 38" - 40" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures -
Chest - 22 14"
Inside arm - 19 1/2"
Outside arm - 22 1/4"
Shoulders - 18 3/4"
Length at back - 27 1/2"
The jacket is in good condition with signs of wear and age. Overall it displays well and looks to be totally wearable. There is a small hole to the rear of the right sleeve which is illustrated in picture 8. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that it is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.
