An interesting original private purchase tailor made combat jacket made from French Army lizard pattern camouflage.
This jacket is very well made is an intersting design. It features a drawstring waist and drawstrings at each cuff like an standard issue example but has cloth covered buttons which have been made using matching camouflage material. It features four patch pockets to the front and a typical French style collar which can be fastened at the neck with a metal hook and eye making it similar to French workwear jackets from the mid Century period. Epaulettes are fitted to the shoulders and are removable. Interestingly, the rear of these is backed with American woodland camouflage material which would suggest the jacket was made no earlier than 1981 and may suggest an American connection with the original owner.
The jacket is a larger size which will fit a 42" - 44" depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -
Chest - 24 1/2"
Inside arm - 20 1/4"
Outside arm - 25 1/2"
Shoulders - 19"
Length - 29 1/2"
The jacket is in good condition with no serious flaws or damage. It displays very well and is very wearable with no particualy signs of previous wear or use. Please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.
A very well made jacket with some interesting details and in a classic camouflage pattern.
