An original 1963 dated Women's Royal Army Corps Holdall in good condition.
This pattern of bag was produced for a number of years and remained virtually unchanged from the Second World War aside from being made in olive drab rather than khaki. The bag is made from a canvas material which is hardwearing and offers some waterproof qualities. It features two grab handles and a flap is fitted to the top. Underneath this is a lave system which employs a nylon rope which passes through brass eyelets. The underside of the flap bears the 1963 date and the War Department broad arrow as well as the initials 'HMP' which denotes that this was made by prisoners serving time.
The original owner has added her name and serial number to the top of the bag in white which reads W432740 Birkby.
The bag is in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. It displays well and is still totally usable with no serious flaws or damage. It is a vintage item however so please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.
A nice original 1960s military bag in great condition.
