An original yellow PVC Fisherman's Mac dating from the 1960s.
This iconic jacket is instantly recognisable. It is made from a bright yellow coloured polyvinyl chloride material which is extremely water resistant making it ideal for working in wet conditions. These yellow examples were favoured by fisherman, trawler men and many others working at sea and on the coast. It is a simple, utilitarian design which features a single breasted front with fly covered buttons and two flapped pockets to the lower portion. The collar is a stand and fall style and features a throat latch to the underside. Inside the mac there is a cotton hanging loop below which is written 'ALS YELLA MAC'.
The coat will fit around a 38" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures -
Chest - 22"
Inside arm - 19 1/2"
Outside arm - 23"
Shoulders - 18 1/2"
The coat is in used condition with various signs of wear and age. There is some damage to one of the cuffs as detailed in the pictures. Overall it is still very wearable but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.
