An original pair of 1955 dated Royal Canadian Air Force Airman's Trousers in unworn condition.
This pattern of trousers was introduced in the immediate post-war period but shares many of the same attributes as their wartime predecessors. The trousers are made from a dark blue serge wool which is the same as used during the war and feature twin rear pockets and a button fly. Slash pockets are located to each hip and black plastic buttons are fitted throughout.
Inside the trousers the original maker's stamp is still present and bears the maker's name of 'Miller & Gabbe Ltd' as well as the size of 4 and the 1955 date.
The trouers are designed to fit a 30-31" waist and when laid flat measure -
Waist - 15"
Inside leg - 30"
The trousers are in excellent condition as can be seen in the pictures. They still retain their paper cutter tags which means they have never been worn or issued. They are of course a vintage pair of trousers so may have small issues commensurate with age.
A nice pair of 1950s trousers which would make a good stand-in for WW2 examples for re-enactment or a mannequin.
