An original pair of French Army Model 1947 Trousers dating from the early 1950s and in great condition.
This pattern of trousers was introduced in the immediate post-war years and saw service in Indochina and the Algerian War amongst others.
The trousers are made from a heavy weight, hard wearing herringbone twill cotton and feature slash pockets to the hips, cargo pockets to the side of each leg, tabs at the bottom of the legs and two rear pockets. Chocolate brown buttons are fitted which are typical of the period and belt loops can be found at the waist.
Inside the trousers the original size label is still present which reads '39'. The maker's stamp is also still present with the maker's name of 'O. Delcroix' being legible along with the place name of Flers.
The trousers are a large size which will fit someone of around a 40" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat measure -
Waist - 21"
Rise - 16 1/2"
Rear rise - 20"
Inside leg - 31 1/2"
Outside leg - 45 1/2"
Cuff - 10 1/2"
The trousers are in very good condition with no real signs of previous wear and use. They look to be in unworn condition and are still very wearable with some light storage marks. They are a vintage, pre-worn item and may have small issues consummate with their age. Please study the pictures before purchasing.
