An original Royal Netherlands Navy HBT Work Jacket dating from the 1950s which is a size 38 regular and is in excellent condition.
This Dutch pattern of fatigue jacket was produced in the post-war period and is clearly modelled on the United States HBT fatigues issued throughout the Second World War as well as in the post-war period. The jacket is made from a green coloured herringbone twill material and features three patch pockets to the front. The chest pocket bears the 'Korps Marine' insignia which includes the Royal Netherlands crown. The jacket features a single breasted front which fastens with buttons and an adjustable cuff, which again fastens with buttons. These are brown coloured plastic examples which are typical of the period.
Inside the jacket there is a hanging loop at the neck. Below this is a size stamp which reads 38R.
The jacket will suit a 38" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures -
Chest - 22 3/4"
Inside arm - 18 1/2"
Outside arm - 23 1/2"
Shoulders - 19 1/2"
Length - 28 1/2"
The jacket is in good condition with no notable signs of wear or age. There are a couple of very light marks to the sleeves and a couple of very small spots to the bottom of the rear panel. Overall it displays well and is still totally wearable but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that it is a vintage, pre-owned item.
