An original post Second World War British Army Jungle Green Shirt in dead stock unissued condition.
This shirt is made from cellular cotton which is often referred to as 'Aertex'. It is a lightweight, breathable fabric ideally suited to the tropics ad was popular with the British military during WW2 and the post-war period. There is no date inside the shirt but these were made an issued during the 1950s and 1960s.
The shirt features a full button front, pleated chest pockets, epaulettes and long sleeves. The epaulettes each feature three sets of holes suggesting that this was originally worn by a Captain.
The shirt will fit around a 38-40" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -
Chest - 22 3/34"
Inside arm - 19 3/4"
Outside arm - 22"
Shoulders - 17"
Length - 26"
The shirt is in good condition with some signs of wear and use. It displays well but does have a period repiar to the rear as shown in the pictures. It may have small issues consummate with age so please study the pictures.
All in all a niceoriginal example which would make a great addition to any collection!
