A rare pair of original 1960 pattern Drill Green trousers in good condition which were made in Hong Kong in 1971.

This pattern of trousers succeeded the 1950 pattern although it remained almost unchanged. The main difference in patterns is that the 1960 pattern features belt loops at the waist. All other details are the same as the earlier pattern including the cross belt waist fastening which was first seen towards the end of the Second World War with trousers of this style now sometimes being referred to as 'Gurkha Pants'. The trousers are made from a jungle green coloured cotton drill and feature twin rear pockets, a map pocket to the left leg and twin pleats to the front which are all features shared with the 1950 pattern.

Inside the trousers the original label is still present and is bright and legible. The maker's name is stated as 'Cornell trading Co. Ltd' which was a company set up in 1968 who remained in business until 2013. The 1971 date is also present as is the War Department broad arrow marking and the size is marked as 5. When laid flat the trousers measure -

Waist - 14 1/2"
Rise - 14"
Rear rise - 16 1/2"
Inside leg - 27 1/2"
Outside leg - 40"
Cuff - 8"

The trousers are in good condition with no signs of serious wear or use. All the buttons are present as are the metal waist buckles and the overall condition is very good. Please take time to study the pictures and satisfy yourself of the condition before purchasing.

A very nice pair of this hard to find pattern of trousers, complete with a great label!
