Original 1970s Highland Light Infantry Mackenzie Tartan Trews

An original pair of Tartan Trews in Mackenzie Tartan dating from the 1970s.

This pattern of trousers was worn by the Highland Light Infantry and features a Mackenzie tartan pattern. They are made in a green, blue with white and red overcheck wool, feature an 'YKK' branded zip at the fly and slash pockets to the hips. The trousers are cut in a traditional manner with a high rise waist and feature buttons on the inside of the waistband to which braces can be attached. 

Inside the trousers there is no label but the indigo coloured cotton drill dates these to the 1970s.

The trousers will suit a 31" waist and when laid flat they measure - 

Waist - 15 1/2"
Rise - 14"
Rear rise - 17 1/2"
Inside leg - 28"
Outside leg - 40"
Cuff - 8"

The trousers are in very good condition for their age. There are some signs of wear including to the pocket (picture 4) and the front crease (picture 6). They are still wearable but please bear in mind that they are a pair of vintage, pre-owned trousers which may have small issues commensurate with age.
