An original post Second World War British Army Jungle Green Shirt in dead stock unissued condition.
This shirt is made from cellular cotton which is often referred to as 'Aertex'. It is a lightweight, breathable fabric ideally suited to the tropics ad was popular with the British military during WW2 and the post-war period.
The shirt features a full button front, pleated chest pockets, epaulettes and long sleeves. Inside the shirt the original label is still present and is bright and legible. It states the maker as 'Ladybird N.I.' who were a prolific manufacturer of shirts for the British Forces during this period. As well as this the 1965 date is present, as is the size of 13 and the War Department broad arrow marking.
The shirt is in fantastic condition and has clearly never been issued or worn. It displays very well and would certainly be hard to better although it may have small issues consummate with age or storage so please study the pictures.
All in all a stunning original example which would make a great addition to any collection!
