An original British Jungle Green shirt dating from the 1960s and in good condition.
The shirt is made from cellular cotton which is often referred to as 'Aertex'. It is a lightweight, breathable fabric ideally suited to the tropics and was popular with the British military during WW2 as well as in the post-war years.
The shirt features a full button front, pleated chest pockets, epaulettes and short sleeves. Sadly the original label has been removed but there is evidence of where it was original attached.
The shirt is a smaller size that will suit someone of around a 36-38" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -
Chest - 21 1/2"
Shoulders - 17"
The shirt is in very good condition as can be seen from the pictures. It has been washed and possibly seen some light use but displays very well overall with no issue or flaws that I can find.
All in all a nice post-war aertex shirt which would make a good addition to any collection.
