An original British military V-Neck Aertex shirt in green which was made in 1954.
This shirt is made from cellular cotton, often referred to as 'Aertex', which is a lightweight, breathable fabric which is ideally suited to hot climates and exercising. It was a popular choice for British military wear for these reasons. The shirt features a V-Neck opening around the neck and short, capped sleeves.
Inside the top the original label is still present and bears the manufacturer's name and the size as 4. To the bottom of the label the 1954 date is present as is the War Department broad arrow marking.
The top is a smaller size which will fit around a 36" - 38" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat measures -

Length - 31 1/2"
The overall condition of the garment is good with no real signs of wear or use. It displays well and is totally wearable but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that it is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.
