An original pair of 'Trousers, No. 1, Dress Blue, O.R.' dated 1953 and in good condition.
This pattern of trousers was worn with the matching tunic on certain occasions. They are made from a very dark blue wool and features a wide red stripe down the outside of each leg. The rear features a fishtail back and the fly fastens with black coloured plastic buttons. More buttons are located around the waist to which braces can be attached. Straight slash pockets are located to the hips and twin pleats can be found to the front of the trousers.
Inside the trousers are partly lined with a khaki coloured cotton drill. The original label is fitted to this and bears the size of 12, the War Department broad arrow marking, the makers name of 'The Rego Clothiers Ltd' and the 1953 date. The original owner has also marked his name in ink as well as the rank of sergeant.
The trousers will suit around a 32" - 33" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat they measure -
Waist - 16 1/2"
Rise - 13"
Rear rise - 18"
Inside leg - 28"
Outside leg - 38"
Cuff - 8"
The trousers are in good condition with some signs of wear and age. Overall they display well and they are still very wearable but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small issues commensurate with age.
A nice original pair of British military trousers with a great label.
